Background
Cassy was found roaming the mountains of Taiwan while pregnant. She was rescued by a few kind-hearted people who would not let a mother and her helpless puppies face the wilderness on their own. “Mama Cass” soon gave birth to 8 beautiful puppies (almost all adopted) and is now looking for a forever home for herself because her foster is leaving Taiwan to go back to her home in Columbia.
Personality
Cassy is a very sweet dog with people she knows and trust, but can be timid and reserved with strangers. She loves cuddling and laying by your side… or in your lap! She is playful with other dogs and also likes to fetch. Cassy is a quick and enthusiastic learner.
Energy Level

Relaxed
Active
Cass is calm most of the time but loves running around and play with other dogs. She LOVES the beach!
Temperament

Shy
Social
Mama Cass gets wary with strangers (especially when there are a lot of them) but it doesn't take long for her to warm up.
Role

Follower
Leader
Cassy will follow the lead of humans she trusts but can also be assertive when she thinks she needs to.
Adaptability

Low
High
Very quick learner, only took her 3 months to go from being a stray dog to being comfortable around most humans.
Behavioral Observations
Cassy is a quick learner and can be trained easily since she is food motivated. As with many stray dogs, she can distrust humans but there is great potential for her to improve because of the rapid progress she has shown in the last 4 months. She would benefit from a human who will lead her with calmness and sensitivity, understanding that she needs time to become a more social dog. Mama Cass is great with dogs and cats but needs more observation with children (especially if they are rowdy).
Medical History
All of PACK's dogs are vaccinated annually, dewormed monthly and receive flea and tick medication quarterly. Every dog is spayed/neutered upon arrival at PACK HQ.

Spayed/Neutered

Vaccinated

Microchipped
Cassy has no health issues that we are aware of.
Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These observations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers

Tends to be more untrusting of males.
Dogs

Very playful with other dogs (sometimes too playful)!
Cats

Cassy gets along well with cats and will play with them.
Kids

Good with kids who are around 10. Have not observed with small children.
Noise

Tolerates most noises but scared of loud ones (fireworks)
Touch

Cass is fine with being touched and groomed.
Behavior Observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.

Cassy can be left alone without any problems.
